The short version: find six statue heads, collect the eyeballs, then deliver them to a boulder near the Stone Vanguard arena. That wakes up Shigandang, a grumpy rock giant who rewards you with materials and the Skandha of Feeling. Trust me, it’s worth the detour.

The six eyeballs, one by one
1. The one you can see from Squall Hideout
Start at the Squall Hideout Shrine in Fright Cliff. Turn around and walk a few paces. That’s it. You’ll run into the statue head, and you can literally see it from the shrine. It’s almost rude how easy this one is.
2. The altar statue
From Squall Hideout Shrine, take the left path. Go forward until the area gets darker. Go around and take the ramp ahead of you, but keep left. At the top, you’ll find an altar and a statue head sitting next to it. Don’t let the gloom fool you—this one is tucked beside the altar, not behind it.
3. The cliff leaner
From Squall Hideout Shrine, take the path to the right. Keep straight against the cliff, to the left of the middle fissure. On the path toward the next shrine, you’ll find a statue head leaning against the rock on your left. It’s the kind of spot where you might run past if you’re focused on enemies. Slow down and hug the wall.
4. The wooden platform statue
From Squall Hideout Shrine, take the right path. On the farther right side, across the fissure, you’ll see an elevated platform with multiple ranged enemies spitting attacks at you. Climb up the wooden stairs and defeat the two enemies on the highest level. You’ll see a statue resting on the wood. This one is a bit of a fight, so clear the ranged foes first. Don’t get greedy.
5. The Mother of Stone detour
From Rockrest Flat Shrine, turn left and go into the nearby cave. Take the path up to your right, deeper into the elevated part. Take out the fungus enemies and follow the path until you reach the Mother of Stone. Defeat her, then look for a path outside, to the right of the boss. On the cliff edge, follow the path to an elevated platform that has a statue head resting atop it. This is the longest detour of the six, but the view is worth it.
6. The gate guardian
From Rockrest Flat Shrine, turn left and walk forward. You’ll immediately see a statue head to the left of the gate. After the cave trek for number five, this one feels like a gift. Grab it and get ready for the delivery.
Where to deliver all six Buddha’s Eyeballs
Here’s the deal: once you defeat the Stone Vanguard—just past the Rockrest Flat Shrine in Fright Cliff—and you have all six eyeballs, return to Stone Vanguard’s arena. Look for the big boulder on the left side of the room. Walk up to it and hit 'deliver' to resurrect Shigandang, another giant rock monster.
And then... he wakes up. Shigandang is not happy about it.
How to beat Shigandang
This guy likes to do a lot of slamming the ground, so time your dodges to avoid his shockwaves and fists. These kinds of moves make up the bulk of his attack patterns, but he has a couple of tricks to look out for. Specifically:

His massive area attack that rends the ground. Run away from it. Do not try to dodge through it unless you enjoy being flattened.

His attack that summons pillars of rock that erupt with a delay. Keep moving and watch the ground.
Stay patient, punish after his slams, and don’t panic when the arena starts exploding. Once you take Shigandang down, you’ll earn some materials and the Skandha of Feeling key item, which is one of many Skandha items you can collect.

Even in 2026, this little treasure hunt remains one of my favorite side mysteries in Black Myth: Wukong. The six Buddha’s Eyeballs are not just collectibles; they’re a hidden boss ticket.
